Being an experienced green building design engineering firm, we will always think-outside-the-box while working to improve energy efficiency and to reduce a project's long term impact on the environment.
Founded in 2003 by Gary Beck (P.E., SECB, LEED AP) Eco-Holdings Engineering has a small but focused technical design staff. To date we have supported many hundreds of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Of these, more than 30 were true 'green building' projects, including Austin's first USGBC LEED Platinum Residence (designed by Architect Laverne Williams).
Our expert team uses SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Revit for site/civil and structural engineering with MEP detailing and energy modeling.
Why not take it with you?
This photo from down my street is too common in all of our neighborhoods.
This home was 'only' about 50 years old (wood homes can now be easily designed to last 1000 years.)
This particular pile is about 6000 cubic feet of waste.
Around 270,000 such homes are torn down annually in the U.S. This could build a wall 30' tall x 30' wide around the USA!
But 75% to 90% of a demolished house could be recycled. (EPA 2012)
Eco-Holdings Engineering can help your architect design a Net Zero annual energy consuming, bolt-together, shelter-in-place home that could be dismantled, relocated, and reassembled at a new site for work quarters, rental, or retirement.
We can help.
Our team brings experience with the capability to provide very detailed green building design plans.
We review both new and old construction methods with an engineer's critical thinking to help attain sensible design approaches that will be cost effective and sustainable.
Our broad design engineering perspective can include site drainage design, structural design, architectural detail engineering, shelter-in-place design, and on-site energy planning all with sustainability as a core goal.
We also offer multiple cost effective pathways to reach a 3D model as a fully integrated design
